Mung.

I've done so much catching up these past few days :) :)

Met up with Henry on Thurs. Had Gusttimo again because I love their many many flavours. Before that we had dinner at an Italian restaurant in 313. First time being there actually. The three story Forever 21 there would make any girl happy. Afterward we hung out at Starbucks, talked, and observed weird people pass by. Ran into Meifang second time that week, who was with Clarissa.. Henry said it must be nice to have such friendly dorm mates. Haha. I must agree, despite my laziness and lack of contribution to the hall, they've been really friendly and nice to me.

On Saturday I met with Ting and Olives. I miss them alot during school days, but its great that we still make time to hang out during school days and during the hols :) We had the duck at Asian Kitchen, recommended by Ting. Its really not bad, might go back there another time since the prices are reasonable.

After having our tummies filled, we shopped for a bit before I finally left for Mike's place at Holland Hill. I wanted to save money and take the bus, but being bad at both 'bus-taking' and directions, I got lost and had to wait for Fel to come get me. Haha. And before that Ting and Olives wanted to bet that I would get lost and eventually take a cab. Guess they were half right.

We watched Zombieland at Mike's place.. The similarities to L4D2 is uncanny. Albert would definitely love the show, since he kills zombies to destress and the movie was essentially a zombie slaughter fest :D

Sunday was sleepover day. We spammed videos and drank at my place. Then on Monday night, we headed back to Mike's place for a really early Christmas party.. There wasnt enough food, thanks to gluttons (you know who they are :D), but at least there were more than enough drinks. Oyster bay!

Then we watched Blades of Glory till about 5am. Will Ferrell is super hilarious :D Stayed over at Mike's place and went to shop and eat at Vivo. We split into groups to take cabs there. The cabbie of the one I was in drove like Alonso on crack.

I got off with a headache and the two said they felt like puking. Lol. We actually arrived a whole twenty minutes before the other cab, and our cab fare was only $10 as compared to theirs of $12+, even though we all took the same route.

You can imagine how fast he drove.

It wasn't the best day for shopping, seeing that I was already carrying two bags, and some books I borrowed from Mike. Felt like my arm was gonna fall off. Bear in mind that this was after many days of late nights and lack of sleep. The rest of them were all carrying their clothes and stuff too.

Then it was dinner at Grandma's place. A must, because of a certain tradition. Not sure what occasion it was for but the main thing was to turn up. Then Vania came to pick me and we had Cosmos at the nearby bar. Havent seen her in so so long.

Like I told her, I had to rely on her fb photos to find out that she had cut her hair :( How sad right. School totally sucks the time and fun out of our lives. And she going overseas didn't help either. Really have to make more effort and time to meet those from different schools..

Afterwards, I went to play lan at Cine with my cousins. First time playing L4D2. Its super tough, I didn't manage to survive the game, lol :( Ran into Chenkai and Thaddeus there. Like most of the other guys from jc, they're both going overseas for studies.. It feels like it was just a while ago that they entered NS. Haha, although they'd probably not feel the same.

Then we had supper around 2am at the coffee shop further down.. Won't go back there again because the food there is freaking expensive. It also didn't help that the ones taking the orders were all from China.

Me: Uh hi, how much is the chicken wing?
Guy: 什么??
Me: Oh uh. 你们的鸡翅旁多少?
Guy: *babbles on in chinese with a heavy accent*
I could only distinguish the words '4 wings and 8 wings'.
Me: Oh okay. 不用紧, 谢谢.

We then had to go up to the front of the stall to look at the pictures. 4 wings for $10. Madness. $8 for a meager amount of cockles. They have thrice the amount of cockles at Newton Circus for $5! We ordered anyway, since we didn't have any other better options. We were hungry and too tired to go somewhere else.

T and his friends got a table at Butter tonight and though I'm aching all over and feeling really tired, I think its not nice to pangseh so last min.. So will probably be going down for a bit. Maybe I'll run into Boon there, lol :)

Anyway I have nothing going on on Christmas day itself!! Totally zilch. :( We were thinking of driving up to Msia to shop, eat and party or maybe even Thailand. But uhm, quite last min ah. Dont even know if my parents will allow, since its just 3 of us.
Hai, dunno wat to do. Ideas?

K gotta get ready, ta.

If only we had a cam.

T took me took this 'awesome, funky' place he's been meaning to take me for the past few weeks, since before the start of my exams. And awesome and funky it was. It was none other than Equinox at Swissotel The Stamford. I've been meaning to go there, but heard it was crazy expensive. So haven't really found the right occasion or reason to be there.

But it was an amazing place. The view was nothing short of breath taking, and I was really cursing myself for not bringing a camera. We could see Esplanade, the cricket club, Fullerton, CDC, UOB, OUB and the parliament from the top. The place had an even better view of the Singapore skyline than the gym at Suntec my mum and I go to. The gym has treadmills that face the bay, so you get to run and enjoy the view :) But this owned it, hands down.

We drank cosmos and had amazing dishes like Foie Gras for appetizer. The dish costs like 40 bucks or so. But it was worth it imo. Goose liver or not, it tasted like heaven. T says his mum would literally kill for it, and I think, so would I :) Haha

It was a very very cool place to be, and I text my parents and told them I would bring them the next time I earned as much. But turns out, my mum has been there a few times and my dad's boss owns the place or smth. So yea, they weren't too excited :(

Nonetheless, I really enjoyed myself.

Then we went to our favourite hangout, Chips. First time I've been there since the exams. And my have things changed. The bartender apparently took a day off, so there was a Chris Daughtry look alike taking his place, but the music he played was definintely not what we were keen to listen to. It was alright though, because the crowd was entertaining as usual. This guy started dancing and yelping at the top of his voice to the Michael Jackson song that was playing, to which T stated "MJ should be banned here." Haha :)

Then the guy's toilet was really thrased, which left us to speculate that a fight broke out there, because the sink was ripped out of its place, it was hanging off it's pipe and the lights were not working. There were also bits and pieces of tiles about the floor. So the guys and girls had to share toilets.

Well, if I had a cam I would post photos of Equinox.. But I don't, so guess those who haven't been there will have to check out the place yourselves :)

I wish we had more time..

Nunnified by the never ending nightmare

Appears to be ending, still a while to go, but at least its ending. The dorm's mostly empty now, we're the last remaining few with papers. Even Kris has decided to MC his last paper and da bao his 2nd last. I was just telling Y that our lives are sad as hell, can't go out cos of exams, can't watch shows, can't go drink, can't do anything, might as well be nuns. But then she reminded me of the other perks nuns are deprived of, and I guess we are slightly better off :D

Anyway I was thinking about wat Dor said the other day, have to not be happy or sad to get into the 'study mood'. Its the same for me as well, when I'm happy I'm high and wanna do other things to keep high. When I'm sad I mope about and listen to emo music, or I watch Desperate Housewives for their retarded lifestyles and Fugly Betty to laugh at her misery.

But when I'm really down and the only person left trying to finish studying at 4am for the 9am paper, an encouraging phone call from T helped keep me going :) Yes, I agree, we all have unhealthy lifestyles. Me studying till 5am and waking up at 7am for the paper, him watching soccer, going out for drinks till late. Haha.

Anyway, another funny story about Y. She says I blog about her like in every post which means I'm in love with her, hahaha. I beg to differ, its just that as of now, she's the closest thing I've got to a comedy. Yest she heard a song I was playing on my laptop, and asked me to send to her. I was a bit surprised, but I didn't say anything. While searching for the file, she said:

"You know which song right? the cute one with the chipmunk voices."

"What chipmunk voices? It was some chick singing about sex."

It was a club banger song featuring Shawna (this female hip hop singer) who was talking about how 'low she could go' with Luda. Chipmunk voices, ha! Higher chances of finding songs like that on Sab's iTunes.

Anyway I came across one of the lamest lyrics ever, its this R&B song by Lil Wayne, Lloyd and Young Money. It goes:

"Call me Mr. Flintstones, I can make your bed rock."

HAHAHA.

Okay getting back to Microbio. The same shit Siok and Sm are going through right now :D

Because of you.

"Today, I went to Walmart with my girlfriend. We bought the usual, food, Advil and condoms. While I waited in line, she went to grab everything. When she came back, I looked in the cart and saw no condoms. I asked her why she didn't get any. She replied "They ran out of smalls." Everyone laughed. FML"

"Today, I was in line in the grocery store with my 3 year old son. He was holding a tub of yogurt that had a cow with sunglasses on on it. He shouted, "Mommy, look at the fat cow with the sunglasses on!" To my horror, the obese woman in front of us turned around. She was wearing sunglasses. FML"

"Today, I pulled over to help an attractive girl on the highway in the middle of nowhere. When I asked if she needed help she told me she was going to try starting her car one more time. She then started to make fake engine noises and told me that she was good to go and that I should be on my way. FML"

"Today, while I was in confession, I was saying my sins and the priest called me a "pain in the ass." FML"

"Today, I woke up early and made my boyfriend french toast. When he woke up, he yelled at me because it was his dish day and I was creating more dishes for him to do. He made me do the dishes. FML"

"Today, my girlfriend decided we are ready for the next step in our relationship. Apparently that next step is her taking a dump with the door open. FML"

"Today, my 2 year old thought it would be absolutely hilarious to lock me out of the house, turn Spongebob on the TV, and get a chocolate bar from the fridge. All while I was outside. My husband was at work for another 5 hours. FML"

Oh which reminds me, Dhiv says Spongebob the musical is in town!! Wheee :) So gonna catch that. I absolutely love Spongebob. Although maybe not as much as Gina, but still. Haha.

So much plans for post exams!! Cannot wait. Spongebob musical, meeting up with friends, shopping, clubbing, drinking, movies, L4D, sleepovers.

I've decided to stop complaining about my crazy workload, because I found out that ABP students for chem bio engineering are way sadder than bio science ABP students.

On an average, we have to take 25 AUs, those sad dudes have 28. Lol. For those who aren't from NTU and cant gauge how much an AU is, an average Biz/Acc year 2 student would have 12 AUs. Which Cynli was very happy to point out:

"Times 2 also cannot reach yours! HAHAAHA!"

Anyhow, I love this song.

After School's rapper is damn good.

STRESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS.

Very upset over my proj work assignment. I truly feel and believe that I deserved a better grade. Honest. I think he's just punishing me for sleeping during his tutorials and for leaving the classroom abruptly sometimes.

Yes, it must be due to the abovementioned reasons. My work couldn't possibly have sucked THAT bad.

Okay, must get over it.

Y: MEL.
Me: Yes?
Y: I think I may have eaten some nail polish.
Me: HAHAHAHAHA.
Y: Fuck you man, not funny.

:D She was eating Twisties after putting on a coat of nail polish.

Anyhow I really like this song, even though its a gospel song, which is quite odd for me to be listening to since I don't go to church, but its one of those inspirational songs that makes me feel all nice inside.

Right at the borderline
Is where I'm gonna wait for you.

I received a text from my cousin in China. It read:

"Fuck. XYZ fucking annoying. Tmr I'm gonna push her down the great wall."

She was forced to go on the trip to take care of the grandparents, and also to make up the numbers. Tour agencies require a minimum number of people if you wish to travel by yourselves (i.e. with only people you approve of and think are cool enough to join your entourage), without having to include other strangers.

So I give you the China tour group: my grandparents, their siblings, some aunts and uncles (their primary school children) and my cousin.

Impossible to see how she could find the trip fun. Don't get me wrong, I like old people, have a soft spot for them in fact, like how cute they are the way they wobble around, or how they insist that you try out their new dish, and how they disapprove of you going out after 11pm because, according to them, the gangsters come out to scavenge the streets at that time.

So yes, I do like the elderly. I really mean it. But the holiday trip was not going to be fun for my cousin, not just because she doesn't share a similar soft spot for old people, but also because there was no way in hell that she would enjoy the itinerary planned out. Imagine wanting to shop but having to follow the tour group around, holding their bags and helping the relatives take photos of monuments.

Plus the company (excluding my amazing grandparents whom I love alot alot :)) aren't much fun. Take for example one of the aunts whom my cousin absolutely could not stand (the XYZ she was referring to in her text).

I understand how annoyed she must feel. Like just today, I was met with horrible service at 7-11. My friend and I wanted to separate our items purchased, but the counter lady there kept tutting and said that it was "troublesome" to have to scan twice. I had to stare at her and ask if there was a problem before she apologised.

Or like when I bought Macs and asked for
MORE Chilli and Mayo. The lady gave me a packet of each. So I asked again, she gave me a packet of Mayo. Before I could ask for the Chilli, she scurried off and pretended to be engrossed with making a Mcflurry. I decided to drop it and asked another employee, even though I usually eat my fries with 3 packets of Chilli and 3 packets of Mayo. The thing is the second person wasn't much different when it came to generosity with Chilli and Mayo packs. You'd think the 50k cash prize comes from all the sauce packets Macs managed to scrounge. If there were a great wall in Singapore I'd want to push them down it as well.

But recently I've decided to deal with such situations differently. That is to not engage at all, smile like you've been given great service and they'll be amazed and ashamed at your patience. It works, even with the lizards. Totally worked. Sab can vouch for its success.

The lizard night was like any other ordinary night. I wanted to drink some wine so I went to the tiny wine fridge outside the study on the 2nd floor. As I reached out to open the fridge, perched on the fridge door was a lizard. I got a shock and stepped back, formulating my next move. I tried several things - snapping my fingers at it, fanning it with my hand to create some wind currents to scare it away, kicking the fridge so that it would think there was an earthquake. It didn't budge, just stayed there staring back at me with those black beady eyes.

With no other moves, I decided to retreat, making sure to turn off the lights in an attempt to create a safe environment for the lizard to leave its position and go back to its lizard home and tell his family about his adventures with the giant monster in a yellow tweety bird pyjama dress, while I went back to the study and told Sab about the obstacle between me and my drink. She laughed, while Dor called me a coward. Then she suggested that I could do a warrior battle dance in front of the lizard, maybe it would be frightened off. I'm sorry Dor, but if I were Superman then lizards would be my kryptonite. :D I really cannot stand them, they give me spasms, lizard-induced spasms. And I'm someone who doesn't mind snakes.

So anyway, I went back to check some 20 minutes later and sure enough our slimey friend was gone, allowing me to open the bottle of Italian wine bought by my mum. I loved it! Finished the entire bottle that night, I'm even considering buying it online but haven't found one that ships overseas. Victory never tasted sweeter :)
